Education
Dr. Friedeman received her undergraduate degree in physiology from the University of Colorado (Sko Buffs!) where she worked in an early childhood sleep and development research laboratory, her Master’s degree in human nutrition from Columbia University, and her medical degree from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center.
Residency & Fellowship
Craving a return to the mountains and seeking new terrain to explore while not on-call, she moved to Salt Lake City where she attended a residency program in psychiatry at the University of Utah. While in residency, she indulged her interests in various facets of psychiatry, from emergency psychiatry and substance use disorders to pediatric, geriatric, rural, veteran, and women’s mental health. She teamed with an esteemed women’s health specialist to create an elective rotation for psychiatry residents, “Mental Health in Menopause” to address the unique mental health needs of mid-life women.
Board Certification
Dr. Friedeman graduated residency in 2026 and is sitting for her board certification exam in Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in September 2026, ensuring she meets the highest standards of care.
About Hana, the person
In her free time, Dr. Friedeman enjoys rock climbing, hiking, camping, watching her sky-loving husband paraglide through binoculars, baking, and playing piano. She lives in Boulder, Colorado with her growing human family and her perfect French Bulldog, Olive. Dr. Friedeman looks forward to meeting you and being a part of your journey defying the absurdity of existence. She wishes you the courage to know your own goodness and shine in a world that could always use more light.
